The Benefits of Life Insurance
The benefits of life insurance are really and truly priceless. When you think about it, where else can you pay a small monthly premium, say $15 per month, and create an instant estate of 250,000 that would be paid out to your wife and kids in the event of your premature demise?
There is no other way to do this. I have been told all kinds of crazy things in my carrier as a life insurance agent. Every once in a while some guy will say “well, I would be better off to put that money in the bank, then waste it on life insurance benefits”. I tell them, sure, you do that, and if you are dead in a year, all you will have in the bank is $180, what’s your family going to do with that?
The benefits of life insurance have been known for many many years, it goes way back. Even before there was banks small communities would come together, and have everyone in the village pay a certain amount into a pot, which would then be distributed to the person’s family after his death.
Modern life insurance is not that much different, except that instead of the tribe leader collecting and paying out the life insurance benefits, its a corporation, but the principal is the same.
Yeah sure, it is no fun to spend money on something intangible, some piece of paper that says that one day when you die, it will pay money to someone else. There is nothing sexy about that, and it would be much more fun to spend that money on a new iphone, or beer or something. The fact is , there is nothing better you can do then to be properly insured, for life, for disability, in case you get critically ill and so on.
I have seen people that were on the receiving end of these benefits, and let me tell you, that money is well needed. The good news is, it is easier and cheaper to buy life insurance now, than it ever was in the history of life insurance benefits. Prices are way down, there is a lot of competition, and the customer is in the driver’s seat.
The only complaint I ever received from a widow is that why didn’t they buy more life insurance.
